Testing Submissions

We recommend that admins avoid using actual artist submissions as tests. This guards against accidentally sending notification emails to artists and potentially confusing data linkages in MUSICat.

Instead, create test submissions using Create Invitation or Submissions:

For testing submissions and Jury functionality when submissions are closed, temporarily open submissions in Configuration and keep the “Show Submissions Link” unchecked. This allows admins to create test submissions without users seeing the “Submit” link on the public site.

Create an invitation in the Invite stage by clicking “Create Invitation” in the upper right hand portion of our screen. This allows admins to test functionality from invite through Review and Publish.

For the most musician-like experience, log out of your admin account before testing any submissions from an artist’s perspective (e.g. submitting a submission, clicking on a Complete Submission link), and use an email account not associated with your MUSICat collection for test submissions.
